  • The horizontal bands of color separating different sections represent different stages of life or the horizon, grounding the more symbolic motifs in the natural world.
    Diamonds and triangles can symbolize fertility, femininity, or the protective eye.


  • The hourglass-shaped motifs are representing the passage of time, the duality of life, or the union of male and female principles.
